Let’s Pitch It is a digital workshop designed to inspire and motivate pupil premium students to support social mobility. The resources have been designed to be used as an enrichment activity allowing students to use a number of essential transferable skills from a variety of subjects. The nine lesson scheme of work guides students to work in teams to research, plan and pitch an idea for a television show. The best pitch from each school involved in the workshops are shortlisted and judged by Baasit Siddiqui from Gogglebox. The best three pitches are judged by the executive producer of Gogglebox with the winning team winning a trip to London to see how the show is created. The lessons have been created by Baasit Siddiqui, a teacher with ten years experience of teaching, ICT, business and computer science. Baasit has combined his experiences and contacts within the television industry to give disadvantaged students and unique and exciting experience. Video resources for all nine lessons allow students to develop their collaborative, communication, leadership, digital and presentation skills. The scheme of work aims to be all encompassing including elements of Media, ICT, Business, English, Maths and Citizenship. To find out more about the workshops or to book a visit from Baasit Siddiqui in person visit: www.siddiqui-education.co.uk or email baasit@siddiqui-education.co.uk Disclaimer – When purchasing the “Let’s Pitch It” package. In order to ensure the school which the package is bought for is part of the National Competition. Anyone who purchases the package must add a review comment with their school’s name, year group(s) it is intended to be used with and the town/city the school is in. Without adding this comment review, there will be no way of identifying the package purchased is linked to the relevant school and can therefore prevent the students from being entered in to the national competition.
